On Saturday 26 th November, Student Volunteering Cardiff (SVC), with help from Cardiff University Art Society, gave Stacey Primary School in Roath a playground makeover. Before the renovation, the playground was looking very bare and grey. Cardiff students did a brilliant job transforming it to look bright and colourful. They painted murals along the walls and games such as hopscotch and snakes and ladders on the floor of the playground. There was a great community element to the day, with volunteers enjoying making a positive difference and being involved with the local community.

Altruistic organisation Student Volunteering Cardiff, whose aim is to enhance the lives of the disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the Cardiff community are holding a charitable fund raising ‘text’ based donation service entitled ‘Give a Little, Gain a Lot’. To participate in this act of goodwill, simply text SVCU£ with the amount that you wish to donate to 70070. This is an ongoing service so there is no official deadline for any donations you wish to make. But while SVC is a successful charitable group it does need your help in order to continue its work.
