Apologies if this email has been sent twice to you: once via our members list and once again via the department mail list.

 

For ALL to read:

          There will be some “re-jigging” of the committee positions this Spring Semester. Unfortunately, due to a sudden change of  circumstances, Natasha will no longer be able to act as president for the society and should only be contacted via email (MendesNE@cardiff.ac.uk) should you have queries regarding the CERN trip. Please bear in mind that she will not always be able to answer straight away. If your query is urgent then contact our new President Jo Humphry (humphryj@cardiff.ac.uk).

          As a result of Natasha’s absence, Jo will now be President and we will be welcoming Candia Nicol as our new Vice-President. Candia has been voluntarily helping out Chaos this year and it is a pleasure to have her on board. Jo and Candia are teaming up to organise most of the Annual Physics Ball. This year it will be held The Angel Hotel opposite the Castle and tickets will be on sale soon – so don’t miss out, watch this space!

CERN Visit 2012

          As well as a couple of remaining tickets, there have been a few cancellations from students who can no longer make the trip leaving 10 places now available. You can purchase your ticket onlineChaos Society or in person by contacting Natasha (MendesNE@Cardiff.ac.uk) for the reasonable price of £165. This includes your travel, accommodation, the tour of CERN, a public transport card for Geneva and breakfast. For more information visit our webpage: CERN 2012Chaos Society.

          If you have already purchased your ticket or made a deposit, then expect to be invited to a Q&A evening at the end of February or at beginning of March. In addition, it is vital to pay the remainder of your ticket as soon as possible to secure your place on the trip. Again, this can be done onlineChaos Society, in Person by contacting Natasha or at the Student Union finance office (details of how to do this will be sent to you in your individual reminder email). If you have any difficulty paying your remaining balance then notify Natasha as soon as possible to prevent you losing your place.

 

Chaos Hoodies/Polo Shirts

          These are now on sale onlineChaos Society or in person at 13:00 everyday this week in the JCR. They are available in various colours and sizes, including a ladies fitted option and incorporate the society logo. You can have yours personalised with your name/nickname at no extra cost. All orders will then be sent to our supplier at the end of Friday and we will contact you once your order has been made.

 

Chaos Sport

          Chaos now has a Physics Rugby and Netball team as of 2011/12 in addition to our Football team. If you would like to join a team or find out more information, email us or contact us on Facebook and we will refer you to the relevant team captain. Contact UsChaos Society

 

Society Elections
